本剧讲述中国南方的省份一个小镇——进仕镇青年大学生回乡创业的故事。男主角曹飞扬（夏辰一 饰）是镇里考进省城的名牌大学生，他受政府号召返乡创业，致力于家乡农旅事业的发展。可这一走，就留下了大学相恋的女朋友莫青春（张梦露 饰）。分手后的他将自己埋进家乡旅游发展计划中，并举行了一场为期两天的招商引资洽谈会，邀请一批远近知名的企业家参加。正当他准备大干一场时，东西村却在游客接待上给项目捅了大娄子。东村“小霸王”林一诺（陈以诺 饰）、西村“话事人”蔡一鸣（向南 饰），加上“奇葩男”徐陈陈（赵政博 饰）、“小胖妹”曾美丽（吴萤孜 饰）、“龟仙人”林老伯（倪学增 饰）等，在争夺游客上花样斗法，闹出了一出出啼笑皆非的闹剧。而女主角莫青春也来到了该镇，刚好卷入了旅游团“历险记”，也体会到了乡村的魅力和热情。在曹飞扬和莫青春的支持下，一个个问题迎刃而解，最终让该镇十八个村全面抱团，打造出乡村振兴、共同富裕的一张金名片。为了感谢曹飞扬的辛苦付出，林一诺、蔡一鸣、徐陈陈、曾美丽，甚至是曹妈、林老伯等乡亲都在帮助他们复合，打造出了一个最温馨的小花灯浪漫求婚夜。
