　　三个家庭二代人间的爱恨情仇借由“人性”这个主题，在20世纪90年代初的香港上演。我本善良，可谁让我一步步走向深渊？
　　20世纪70年代，一场大火把本来温馨的一家人拆散，警察蒋定邦（罗乐林 饰）认为妻儿已葬身火海，于是伤心前往英国。二十年后，回到香港的定邦在许多场合认识了香港上流社会的大亨齐乔正（曾江 饰）。但定邦觉得此人并非善类。一次杀人事件，被告人乔正的儿子齐浩南（温兆伦 饰）被告上了法庭。而这时，定邦才突然发现乔正的妻子正是自己以为已死去的前妻，而浩南就是自己的儿子！浩南视乔正为偶像，明知此事是乔正所为还是替他入狱。而另一方面，和乔正颇有渊源的石常春（胡枫 饰）的女儿——石伊明（邵美琪 饰）从英国归来，数次邂逅了浩南。亲情与爱情、正义与邪恶在浩南的心中交织徘徊，二代人的恩怨情仇能否在浩南这代化解呢？

　　后因缘际会，镇被选中为男主角，与当红女星叶媚合作，名噪一时，而桥却委屈为镇替身。桥郁郁不欢，幸英从旁开解，两人感情一日千里。
　　镇本可藉此机会扶摇直上，惜他整日花天酒地，终因债务缠身，迫得往澳门暂避。片商无奈只有中途易角。媚趁时向桥表示有能力为他争取补上，不过，以相好为交换条件。桥闻言不禁心动，后终不忍辜负英的爱意，唯有拒绝。然天意弄人，桥忽接镇急电，谓因债务而被禁锢，求桥代为筹钱赎身。桥彷徨无计，找媚商量，媚重提旧事，桥情急下，与媚发生关系。
　　镇逃走心切，出手伤人，被控。桥亦无能为力。未几，桥被选为男主角，而镇则锒铛入狱。
　　英怀疑桥与媚有暧昧关系，桥为表爱意，决定与英结婚。但媚对桥情深一往，至结婚当日，仍痴缠不休，二人撞车入院，英闻讯悲愤失望，而媚因毁容而想自杀，幸被桥救，桥对媚因怜生爱，三人感情纠缠不清。
　　镇在狱中得悉桥替代主角事，心生不忿，出狱后即找桥算帐，桥斥巨资助镇拍片以作补偿，但影片全盘失败，师父亦在拍摄途中意外身亡。师父临终托桥代提携亮，桥遂推荐亮为新片男主角，亮一夜成名，但桥却从此星沉。

　　故事背景设定在《权力的游戏》中事件发生的约两百年前，讲述坦格利安家族的兴衰史。

　　该片讲述想去学校是自己毕生心愿的无学历者黑帮金德八 拯救被校暴受尽折磨最终做出极端选择的少年宋以宪后附体到他身上，然后宋以宪平时喜欢的男人崔世景对他产生怀疑的故事。
