　　该剧根据真实的历史事件编写而成，反映了雾都解放前夕，国民党准备在撤离大陆之前炸毁雾都的兵工厂和重要基础设施，表现了国共两党的殊死较量和尖峰对决。剧作通过三大家族在风云激荡的乱世之秋中的兴衰沉浮以及方梦凯、罗丹和董海妹之间奇特的情感际遇和命运描写，演绎出剧中主人公面对强敌以及敌人的罪恶阴谋，同仇敌忾，决死抗争，慷慨赴死，不惜抛头颅洒热血的崇高爱国主义精神。
